Though neither big nor slick, it's a joyful, feel-good spoof that makes you want to run out and rent a real Bollywood musical.. A movie that tries to fuse the two 'woods' but winds up a Bolly-Holly masala mess.. Mehta manages to make her film not only palatable, but a real pleaser.. A disappointingly shallow and not terribly funny romantic comedy.. . A musical comedy that's mirthless and barely musical.. It's not that it was too much of a stretch for [Mehta] to attempt this kind of cheerful dome...
